From 2020 – 2024, 24 business owners participated in the AgResults Tanzania Dairy Productivity Challenge Project, which was implemented by Land O'Lakes Venture37. The project used a Pay-for-Results prize competition to encourage private sector input providers to sell productivity-increasing inputs to smallholder dairy farmers. The competition also motivated fodder wholesalers and input providers to produce, store, and sell fodder. By providing these prizes to business owners across the country, the project aimed to position the private sector to deliver more high-quality products and services to their smallholder dairy farmer clients. The goal? Rearing healthier cows that produce more milk.
