The U.S. volunteer expert, Katherine Cassidy, spent four weeks in Egypt and Rwanda training NGOs and SMEs on strategic management and leadership, under the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer project. In Rwanda, she guided more than 100 women employees, from different SMEs, to increase productivity at their workplace. In Egypt, she trained small NGOs in 3 different governorates on establishing new business development units and receive funding from USAID and other significant donors. Ultimately, these efforts will help boost local food systems in both countries.
